I wrote most of this reeaaalllyyy early in the morning because I had coffee later than I should have last night and couldn’t sleep… so if anything doesn’t make sense or needs fixing, just let me know and I’ll be happy to edit. =)

Nickname:; Kat. Not Cathleen, not Cathy, and for the love of god you’d better not call her Sylvia.

Birth Date & Place:; March 11, 2010/Kansas City, Kansas
Species:; werewolf
Gender:; female
Sexuality:; straight
Occupation:; librarian

i only dream of you my beautiful
i only dream of you my beautiful
Hair Color:; brown
Eye Color:; brown
Height:; 5’4”
Weight:; 145 lbs
Perfections:;
She’s not sure she could call anything on her body a perfection, but if there’s one thing it’s her hair.
Flaws:;
Several scars on her arms and legs from accidents as a child; a couple moles on her back and an blob-shaped birthmark on her left shoulder blade
Tattoos & Piercings:;
Both ears pierced once; no tattoos yet
Personal Style:;
Kat likes to look and dress pretty. She's not vain, it's just a self-confidence thing. If she looks like a bum out in public, she gets this whole not-so-confident vibe going on. On special occasions she'll wear a dress or skirt/blouse combo; otherwise, typically she's found wearing jeans and some sort of shirt depending on the weather. None of those jeans purposefully torn - she prefers nice normal jeans, thank you very much.
Her hair is typically kept down. It naturally curls and waves, so Kat usually ends up with a date with her hair straightener once a week or so when she feels like keeping it straight. She loves wearing earrings; they look pretty, especially the dangles, and they're a distraction to play with when she's just standing around bored.

the truth runs deep inside and will never die
the truth runs deep inside and will never die
- reading
- books
- listening to music
- chocolate
- rare steaks
- spending time as a wolf
- bright summer days
- peace
- hanging with friends
Dislikes:;
- vampires
- being forced to change at the beck and call of the moon
- silver, and her allergy to it
- the new world order (so to speak) here in North America
- idiots
- users and abusers
- being told she’s wrong
- being lied to (even though she doesn’t mind lying to save her own ass)
- war and pointless fighting
Desires:;
- to be loved
- to always see her sister safe
- to figure out what she wants to do with her life
Fears:;
- spiders and other creepy-crawlers
- that she’ll never find her special someone
- her sister being found and captured as a slave
- her mother or sister being killed
Strengths:;
- remembering things
- singing – she’s actually got a pretty good voice
- lying
Weaknesses:;
- losing her temper
- gullibility and habit of trusting too easily
- getting to places on time
- getting lost in a book… that leads to her being late quite a bit
Goals:;
- To be honest… Kat doesn’t know what she wants to do with herself. She’s still young, compared to the older wolves, and has centuries to go still if she doesn’t get herself killed before then.
- To see the world become a better place would be nice… a place where everyone is treated equally and there are no wars, though she knows that’s never going to happen.
Regrets:;
- not going out of the country when she had the chance
- letting the one guy she might have had a chance with slip away
Quirks:;
She doesn't like walking in anything close to total darkness. It's not that she's afraid of the dark... she just doesn't like it. Okay, maybe she's just a little afraid. But just a little.
Secrets:;
Her deepest but not-so-dark secret? Sometimes, she just wants to be human. Now, that's kind of overlaid by the knowledge that if she had been human, she'd be in a really bad spot by now... but sometimes she envies that they don't have to change into something feral and furry every month.
Overall:;
Kat… what to say about Kat. Like most of her kind, she’s a bit of a hothead and definitely has temper issues. Hey, it’s not her fault though! She can’t help it if the stupid people and assholes of the world get her riled up… along with other issues, and people being rude to her, and seeing humans being treated as slaves, and being called by her true first name… and yeah, that list could go on and on. Maybe she should try working on that sometime, it could be beneficial. She could also use some work on the after-anger issues, such as tending to hold grudges.
But really, she’s not that bad of a person. Aside from her temper, she’s actually a pretty good person. She loves being around people, and if you’re a decent person it’s pretty easy to make a friend out of Kat. She’ll go to any lengths to protect her friends, and that protective streak has almost gotten her killed a couple times. In her opinion though, that’s a good thing. Seeing what society has come to… it makes her sick. There’s not much she can do about it, but she tries to do what she can for those around her.
Some might say Kat is a bit gullible, even after all she’s seen and been through. You think she’d learn by now, but she tends to trust people too easily. But remember that grudge thing? Once you’ve lost her trust, she’s not going to trust you again, and more than likely she’s also going to be holding a grudge against you for whatever you did.

Overall:;
Kat was born back in 2010, before the wars began and before her life changed drastically. She was the first of two children, with little Sammy born just a year later. The family wasn’t rich by any means, but her parents brought home enough that they lived comfortably. Average life, average family… no, the only thing that separated Kat and her family from the others she knew was that the Ashwoods were werewolves.
Or at least… they were for the most part. Kat’s sister, Samantha? The werewolf gene skipped a generation in the girl. It was quite the scandal when the family realized Rainey had given birth to a human girl. Since the last halfling in the family had been several generations ago, they thought the line to be pure again. But Michael and Rainey didn’t really care about that; they saw humans on the same level as themselves. The difference in beliefs caused multiple arguments between Kat’s parents and the rest of the family. By the time Kat was four, her parents had split from the family pack and moved to the east coast. This time though, her family decided to stay out of any other packs, and took on lone wolf status.
It was right around that time that war broke out. She doesn’t remember the first few years, but she definitely remembers the later years. It was hell. Pure and simple, hell. First of all, while North Carolina wasn’t exactly war central, it saw its fair share of battles thanks to being one state away from the nation’s capital. Kat still had school, for which she was oddly thankful for, but it was very strained because so many of the teachers had been drafted into the army. Classes were overfilled, people were on the edge, and overall it was just a time she prefers not to think about.
Second reason it was hell: when Kat was just twelve years old, five years into the war, her father was killed. The people who broke the news to the Ashwood family said he died instantly when a bomb went off, but that gave them little comfort. Kat was devastated; her whole family was. It made her hate the war even more; this idiotic, pointless, godforsaken war that did nothing but leave dead bodies and grieving families in its wake.
And the third reason it was hell? Though it all, Kat had to deal with keeping her secret hidden, that she and her mother were werewolves. Secretly, Kat was glad her sister never had to deal with turning into a furry animal once a month, though she knew the secret was just as hard to bear.
Then, finally, war was over. By this time Kat was fifteen and a teenager. A rather temperamental, hormonal teenager. It was around then that she hooked up with her first boyfriend. It was an okay relationship; nothing serious, just a little fling that they ended a couple months later when both of them realized there was no real attraction between them.
When the vampires were outed the following year, Kat couldn’t believe it. If there was one thing that was drilled into her head from the cradle, it was that humans couldn’t know the supernatural existed. That she would always have to hide in the closet, keeping her true self a secret from even her friends. It was a relief to know that the hiding was finally over, and she couldn’t understand why people were rioting.
That was, until word got out that the vamps really didn’t plan to bring the country back to former glory. Then her relief turned to utter shock and disbelief. Humans, now to be slaves to the vamps and wolves? That was absolutely ridiculous; why should they be? It only hurt the attempt to rebuilt the country, and now there was another worry Kat had to contend with. Her sister. Her sister, who hadn’t inherited the wolf gene and was purely human. For a while, no one tried to take her from them. But then the inevitable happened, the local wolf pack came sniffing around and figured out that Kat and her mom were protecting Sammy.
Her mother decided that the best thing would be to take Sammy out of the country and somewhere else that was still relatively normal, that hadn't turned against the humans. The problem though was that Kat had just finished high school and was already accepted into a college up north in New York, one of the first in the country to be fully operational again after the war. She couldn't pull out without losing thousands of dollars, so she and her family ended up splitting. With the help of an underground movement Sammy and their mother left the country, while Kat moved to New York.
To this day she regrets the decision; even with the loss of money, and the knowledge that higher education would be an indefinite time down the road, it would have been a better choice than leaving her family. But what's done was done. She completed her schooling, though it paled in comparison to what she heard the college used to be like. Her second year there, Kat joined the Fengari pack after being threatened that she either had to join the pack or leave, because lone wolves were not accepted in the area.
Now, Kat is just working as a librarian, living with the Fengari pack, and barely making her way while trying to figure out what to do with her life. She's going to live for hundreds of years... that's a hell of a long time to have to pass. And no matter what, she's going to keep her sister safe from the slave trade.

Ashlyn frowned as she eyed the tall gates in front of her. Mausoleum #3 - how unique. Not. Then again, she couldn't really blame the designers either; what else were you supposed to keep naming cemetery after cemetery? The really appropriate names probably weren't ones that they would have thought of, like 'Death Trap' and 'Supernatural Hangout.' That's what cemeteries were, really. Especially the ones here.
Anyway. This wasn't the time for idle thoughts. She was here for a reason - all signs that the vampire she'd been hunting for the past week hung out here. With some luck, she was hoping to be able to spring a trap on him, but first that meant finding some sort of confirmation that this was the place.
It's cold... The stray thought intruded as she finally started moving again. A good night to have been inside, curled up with a book or talking to her friends. Instead, she was out here. But it was for a good reason, and because of that Ash couldn't bring herself to be too disappointed.
Rounding one of the narrow turns onto another pathway, Ash hummed softly while she walked. She sucked at singing, but alone where no one could hear her it didn't matter. Even though she was on guard, she was pretty sure no one was in the cemetery right now... oh. Or not. Ash fell still as she noticed a figure leaning against the stone mausoleum to her right. He wasn't vampire, she could tell that right off the bat because he was breathing. So should she move on, or see if he knew anything useful that might help her out?
